All you need to know about Shekar
After over two and a half decades of a successful corporate career, Shekar launched his own consulting firm, Contextus Consulting Private Limited. The firm distinguishes itself by its ability to help clients understand the context in which any issue is set, which then leads to a specific, bespoke approach to effective problem solving.

As a business leader, Shekar has worked across a range of functions covering sales, operations, finance, projects and supply chain. His work experience also covers a wide range of industries like Airlines, Automotive, Agriculture, Consumer Goods, Outsourcing, Retail, Technology and Telecom. Most of his work revolves around business transformation, and the need for companies to stay relevant and focussed in times of chaos, turbulence and uncertainty.
Shekar has developed several business improvement tools, frameworks, methodologies and philosophies, all of which are wrapped around the theme that no two individuals, companies or problems are the same.

He has trained extensively and effectively used several management concepts starting from the Japanese manufacturing techniques of TQM, Kaizen, 5S, SMED etc to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Ford’s Q1 and TOPS (team oriented problem solving); Value Engineering, Value Stream Mapping, Franklin Covey’s 4 Disciplines of Execution and so on. He also uses Design Thinking for business modelling and for identifying and solving problems that typically come in the way of scale (growth) and success (financial results).

Shekar has the distinction of having set up organizations from ground zero and growing them to scale. This has had him involved in a wide spectrum of activities covering aspects related to People, Processes, Systems Tools, Brand and Capital to build high performance teams delivering highly impactful results directly contributing to the bottom line. He believes in delivering sustainable results through collaborative, win-win solutions, made possible through his ability to listen keenly, unlearn constantly and demonstrate passion, drive, curiosity and creativity.
Prior to consulting, Shekar was the Business Head of the Auto Parts Aftermarket for TVS, which involved the Retailing and Distribution of Automotive Spare Parts in India, including its own Private label brand. In this role, he conceived and set up the business, built the Brand and value proposition, secured funding while delivering on overall expectations of various stakeholders including the company board, investors, suppliers and employees. Prior to that, Shekar conceived, established, developed and managed the Financial Shared Services organisation for Nokia globally, delivering best in class services at a cost better than the Industry.
Shekar has managed Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain organizations regionally and globally, both at Nokia and Intel. At Intel, Shekar formulated, developed and drove the IT outsourcing program successfully at a time when the Indian IT industry was still nascent. Shekar also has a unique experience as the core team member of Ford Motor Co which set up the 300 acre greenfield manufacturing facility at Chennai. Shekar started his career with Eicher where he trained on manufacturing engineering concepts and worked both at the tractor gear business unit and later at Royal Enfield (which was acquired by Eicher).
